Eternal Life

“Receive Eternal Life”

Jesus Christ is the son of the one and only true, living God. He was born in the Earth, died, and was resurrected for you and me so our relationship with God could be reconciled forever. Yes, our relationship with God was broken for many years until He sent His son Jesus.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son, so that everyone who believes in him (Jesus) will not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16

God desires to have a personal relationship with you as a father to a child, which is why humans were created. He wants a relationship with people who will love and obey Him by choice, not by coercion. The first humans God created (that we know about) are Adam and Eve. God prepared a perfect place for them to live called the Garden of Eden.

Adam’s responsibility was to care for and cultivate the garden. There were many trees in the garden for them to eat from. God commanded Adam not to eat from one specific tree in the Garden called “The tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” If he ate from this tree, the consequence was death, which would affect the entire human race.

God allowed Adam and Eve free will. Free will is meaningless if you’re never given commands or choices. Unfortunately, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God’s instruction by eating from the tree that was forbidden. Not only was death a consequence; sin entered the world (Romans 5:12) and mankind’s relationship with God was severed because of their disobedience. God is pure and holy. We can’t have a relationship with God when sin is in our lives. Because God is merciful and compassionate, He devised a plan for you and me to be reconciled back to him. The plan was to have Jesus Christ come into the Earth and die, taking all of the sins of mankind upon him. Blood had to be shed from a sinless sacrifice, and God chose his only son Jesus Christ for the task. Yes, Jesus died for you and me, but God raised him from the dead and He is alive, seated at the right hand of God in Heaven. What an awesome, powerful God to serve.

The Salvation Prayer is the most important prayer you will ever say in your entire life. Whether you believe it or not, Heaven and Hell do exist. We no longer have to be separated from God or fearful of death. Jesus was abused, tortured, ridiculed and crucified unjustly so that you and I can be saved. Accepting Jesus Christ into your life guarantees your soul will enter Heaven when you die.

Salvation means eternal life. The Salvation Prayer comes from this scripture: “If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). It is very important to believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, and He has risen from the dead. God looks at the heart, not lip service or outward appearances. He knows if you are sincere or not. Are you ready to receive the gift of salvation?

Father, I repent and ask you to forgive all my sins. I believe in my heart that Jesus died on the cross, and God raised him from the dead. Jesus, come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior. Amen.
